In the Kitchen: Black Magic Cake

Here is the recipe to a wonderful, chocolate, cake. Mmm, you're gonna love it!


Black Magic Cake:


2 cups of sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup cocoa
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
2 eggs
1 cup of strong black coffee
1 cup of buttermilk or sour milk (place1 tablespoon of lemon juice, or vinegar in cup, fill w/ milk)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

1) Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour two 9-inch bakig pans or just grease one 9 x 13 pan.

2) In large mixer owl, blend sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soad, baking powder and salt.

3)Add eggs, coffee, buttermilk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed with electric mixer for two minutes. (Batter will be really thin.)

4) Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 30 -35 minutes for round pans, or 35 - 40 minutes for square pan.

5) Cool ten minutes;

Now, here's  the awesome frosting.



Quick Chocolate Fudge Frosting

2/3 cups of butter or margarine
1 1/3 cup cocoa
5 1/3 cup powdered sugar
2/3 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract


Directions:

1) In medium sauce-pan, over medium heat, melt butter; add coca. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.

2) Remove from heat. Spoon mixture into large mixer bowl. cool completely.

3) Add powdered sugar alternately with milk, beating to spreading consistency. Blend in vanilla.

Makes 3 1/2 cups of frosting.

Just kiddin'. ;) Well, I actually haven't eaten yet, but that's my own fault as the morning isn't exactly young--I just keep forgetting. :P In any case, this cake looks absolutely scrumptious. Thanks for sharing!
