Colds *sniffle*

The common cold.  A very common thing.  Very common. (Did I make it clear, that a cold is common!?) And VERY annoying, especially when you are singing in front of lot's of people, and your voice is all croaky, your nose is all stuffy, and you sound like a sick cow! :) lol
A cold came "come upon you" from many different viruses. :( So there is no real "vaccine" or cure for it. A cold is also know as : (These names are interesting, cause they sound like some strange..disease!) nasopharyngitis, acute viral rhinopharyngitis, acute coryza etc.

Here are some interesting facts: Common symptoms include a cough, sore throat, runny nose, and fever. There is currently no known treatment that shortens the duration; however, symptoms usually resolve spontaneously in 7 to 10 days, with some symptoms possibly lasting for up to three weeks.[2]

\The common cold is the most frequent infectious disease in humans[3] with the average adult contracting two to four infections a year and the average child contracting between 6–12. Collectively, colds, influenza, and other infections with similar symptoms are included in the diagnosis of influenza-like illness. They may also be termed upper respiratory tract infections (URTI).

I'm sure that no one enjoys being infected by such an annoying sickness.  Here are some "cures" to help you get over your cold faster.

Mucinex

Cold and Flu Tea a wonderful cup, that will help you fight the infection.

Echinacea It's very soothing, if you get it in tea form.

Drink lot's of fluids, (water, homemade lemonade (water, lemon juice, and honey), etc.)

Inhale Steam to ease your congestion

Gargle with warm salt water.  It'll  help your sore throat.

Stay warm, and rest. When you are warm and resting, most of your energy will be put to fighting off the sickness.

Blow your nose often.  :)

sore throat is not a lot of fun its just uncomfortable and difficult to swallow.

usually, i would take the Nim Jiom Cough Syrup (www.geocities.jp/ninjiom_hong_kong/index_e.htm ) which has a thick consistency formulation. it coats the throat and includes herbs that are particularly good for that application.

i hope it works on you as well.

Very good to know! I wish I had known some of these remedies when I had my cold a few weeks ago, but I'll save the information for next time (which I hope will be a long time). ;)
