Dear Daddy...

Dear Daddy,

Today is your birthday. And I want you to know how very special you are to me, and that words can't describe the level of esteem you have in my eyes. You're my hero. The person I strive to be. Your character is one that I - and I'm sure everyone desires to have.

So many people talk about your godly, upright character. "You know it always was your Dad that said "maybe we should pray about this..." ..."Your Dad just sat there when everyone was debating (arguing) - and it showed great character..."

I love the way you pray before you make a choice, or act. I think the most encouraging (maybe astounding...but not really) fact I learned was that when one of us kids had done something wrong, and no one knew what to do, you waited...but while you waited, you prayed. You've prayed for me, and the problems I was in. You prayed what to do, before you did it. So many hearts and feelings were left unhurt because of the way you handled situations - through prayer. I truly desire that ability.

You make time to play a game of volleyball with Anna and I in the evening, or to play Catch with Isaac. You always make time for us, to do something we're interested in, and I thank you. An evening or game is so much better when you play, or so it seems!

It's amazing that you can work a job and yet pastor and prepare to pastor every week. I don't think most could accomplish it. You've blessed so many people in your ministry - even if it's through spending the time to talk with them...or to preach an inpsiring message.

I want you to know I love you, and I pray for you everday.

I hope you feel extra special, and loved this year in your life. That God will draw your closer to Him, and reveal Himself to you...and whatever you pursue, will be blessed.

I love you, Daddy!

I bet your dad feels like a million bucks after reading this. What a tribute! And if he were to blog, he probably would have some wonderful things to say about you, too, Kara.
